I4.0 Maturity Index

Studies show that companies realize the high potential of Industrie 4.0. However, companies experience difficulties in implementing Industrie 4.0 principles and solutions in their businesses. Mostly because till now the outcome of Industrie 4.0 projects in terms of business value can hardly be estimated. Often enough the link between an Industrie 4.0 roadmap and intermediate stages providing benefits to the business is missing.
Target of the maturity model is to benchmark producing companies and will guide them to increase their production efficiency by an individual roadmap. Credo of the project is to implement Industrie 4.0 stepwise and utility-oriented in the companies. Each step will generate a specific value for the companies and the implementation will be controllable.
The maturity model consists the whole company’s value chain (engineering, production, logistic, service and sales). All these processes can be assessed in detail. Elements of the assessment are not only the resources, but in the same extent the required IT-systems, the organizational structure and the culture. Only by this holistic approach, companies can assess their status-quo of the processes in detail.
The validation process at producing companies already started. The results of the project will be published as an acatech position paper on HMI 2017. Companies, which are interested on a validation, can contact the contact person.
