UdZ 01.24 / 59 Ready4ESG : Sustainability Reporting for SMEs The 'Ready4ESG' research project, conducted in collaboration between FIR at RWTH Aachen University and the International Performance Research Institute (IPRI), aims to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to prepare ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reports. In view of increasing sustainability requirements and the new EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which provides for a significant extension of the reporting obligation to around 15,000 companies in Germany, the 'Ready4ESG' project is developing a digital platform of the same name to support SMEs in ESG reporting.This platform will enable SMEs to record relevant sustainability data efficiently and to manage the complex requirements of ESG reporting with minimal use of resources. The Ready4ESG platform serves as a central solution to support SMEs in meeting regulatory requirements and the voluntary publication of ESG activities by simplifying and partially automating the preparation of ESG reports.
